This coiled piece is inspired by geodes and crystals. It was designed to be a safe-keeping pouch for crystals or other small, fragile items.
Up From Below
My grandparents are fortunate enough to have traveled the world. My grandma has an amazing collection of sea shells that I have been admiring as long as I can remember. My favorite of her shells by far is the Chambered Nautilus, which is what inspired this coiled piece.
Hand painted skateboard deck, combining by my love of the ocean with my love of the board sports.
Gazing At The Glare
Mixed media frame loom weaving consisting of hand spun yarn, newspaper, various scrap fabrics, and a photograph. This piece is inspired by curiosity and the ability to look at life through different points of view.
Inspired by organic shapes of the ocean, I created this collection with various shibori and painting techniques using Fiber Reactive dyes.
Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes
From a very early age I was completely drawn to the boarding sports; surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, wakeboarding, etc. Its a really amazing feeling to be guided by nature at such speed. As someone who moves around and travels a lot, I find it hard to sometimes keep my boards safe and protected from little chips and scratches. I created a collection of board bags inspired by the history and culture of each sport, to give a little extra layer of protection during times of travel. I designed the pattern on Photoshop, then digitally printed the yardage by hand, and used the printed fabric to construct these bags.
